Happy June everyone. I hope you have been enjoying the first days of summer! It might be hot outside, but it’s about to get HOTTER with these sizzling games!. During the month of June we launched our lifestyle farming sim, Everafter Falls on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and Playstation!

We have two unreleased and in development games to showcase this month!

Cabernet is a 2D narrative RPG set in a 19th century Eastern European inspired world where you follow Liza, a newly awoken vampire who struggles with becoming a hunter of the night while trying to keep a scrap of her humanity from the past.

Nanomon has the same developer that created the award winning Kardboard Kings, Oscar Brittain. Train your Nanomon with love and training so they evolve into the perfect companion. This is the perfect game to have running while working on something else.

You can wishlist Cabernet on Steam!

Party for Introverts, the developers of Cabernet, have been posting some amazing videos on Tiktoks and I would recommend checking them out!

I talked with Arseniy and Laura about what they have been working on this month!

“Welcome back, little bats!

As the sun heats up, Party for Introverts is still busy in the darkness working away on Cabernet.

What is Arseniy not doing? As we are full-on in polishing stages, it’s a pretty diverse assortment of tasks on his plate. From implementing sounds to balancing skill points, Arseniy is being kept very busy with making sure you all have the best/smoothest player experience. And along with that comes fixing bugs, bugs, and more bugs.

June is all about custom art and animations for Liza. While most of the main art is already in the game, there are still some particular objects and character movements that are needed for certain story-specific scenes. So while she is checking these off the list, Laura is also working through the backlog of background characters needed to fully flesh out the world, both vampire and human.

Lastly, final VO recording for background/side characters is happening this month, and we are working with some very talented individuals to bring incredible vocal color to the game. We can’t wait for you to hear their work!

Thanks again to everyone for following along. See you next month with another update!

Nanomon | Raise, Train, and Evolve Your Perfect

Wishlist Nanomon on Steam!

I talked with Oscar about the minigames and his thought process behind developing them for Nanomon.

“This month, I was designing Minigames for Nanomon, but the more I added, the more I would have to teach players, which seemed bad.

My solution was 3 “Control Types” that are reused throughout the game:

Power Type — When the player clicks on the screen, their Nanomon will fire an attack in that direction, which moves at a speed equal to their Power Stat.

Agility Type — The player’s Nanomon will move to wherever the mouse cursor is pointing, at a speed equal to their Agility Stat.

Heart Type — When the Player clicks, their Nanomon will brace and defend themself for a period equal to their Heart Stat.

So now, when I design a minigame, I start with 3 questions:

What is the player getting out of this? (Resources? Stats? Just Fun?)

Increases their Agility Stat

What is the Theme of the minigame? (Soccer? Combat? Farming?)

Something fitting Agility, like Soccer.

Which Control Type best suits this minigame?

For an Agility-increasing minigame, the Agility Control Type.

And voila! A minigame where you have to juggle a soccer ball in the air for as long as possible!

What’s cool about this, is that it looks/feels different to all the other minigames, but by using the Agility Control Type, and a well-known theme (juggling a ball), I don’t have to teach the player very much at all!

Fuck yeah, science!
